Sourcing Consultant (Event Management)

Location: Must be based in or able to work onsite 4 days per week in Charlotte, NC; West Des Moines, IA; Minneapolis, MN; or Dallas, TX.

Salary: $43 - $45 per hour.

What you will do

• Support corporate meeting and event venue sourcing, supplier negotiation, and contracting activities.
• Manage multiple concurrent sourcing assignments while ensuring compliance with risk requirements.
• Use Cvent Supplier Network to conduct searches, issue RFPs, and evaluate proposals.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve sourcing challenges.
• Present recommendations for low-to-medium risk deliverables using independent judgment.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the sourcing function.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of sourcing experience or equivalent professional background.
• 3+ years of experience in corporate meeting/event planning, venue sourcing, or supplier contracting.
• Direct experience negotiating supplier agreements, including rates, concessions, and cancellation provisions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or highly regulated industries.
• Knowledge of enterprise procurement, risk, or third-party management processes.
• CMP designation or relevant hospitality/sourcing certifications.
• Experience supporting geographically dispersed stakeholders.
