Product Development Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Singapore, Singapore; international travel of approximately 30–50% required for customer escalations and engagements.

What you will do

• Support new product introduction and sustaining activities within the hirify.global Product Lifecycle framework, delivering system architecture inputs, test plans, acceptance criteria, and documentation.
• Contribute to system definition, integration, validation, characterization, reliability testing, and field deployment.
• Own Engineering Change Orders and Field Change Orders, coordinating implementation, qualification, validation, and release across hardware, software, and system interactions.
• Investigate performance, reliability, and field issues across optics, sensing, precision motion, vibration, electronics, and PLC-based control systems.
• Provide hands-on L4 escalation support, including international customer-site troubleshooting and direct communication of technical status and solutions.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, applications, service, field, and manufacturing teams; support training and knowledge transfer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in semiconductor equipment, complex systems, or a related high-tech industry.
• Strong system-level engineering capability across mechanical, electrical, and optical subsystems.
• Experience developing and executing test plans, performing root-cause analysis and troubleshooting, and completing system integration and validation.
• Familiarity with PLC/control systems, data acquisition and analysis, hardware debugging, and laboratory testing.
• Ability to work hands-on in laboratory and field environments and independently drive problem resolution.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional, global teams.
• Willingness to travel internationally approximately 30–50%.

• Experience with semiconductor capital equipment.
• Experience supporting field escalations or customer-facing engineering.
• Knowledge of PLC processes, stage-gate development, or product lifecycle engineering.
• Hands-on laboratory or field experience with complex hardware systems.
