Senior Product Engineer (Fluidics & System)

Location: Singapore - Woodlands - NorthTech. Onsite role with occasional travel to other sites and CM/supplier sites.

What you will do

• Support and drive product transfer into manufacturing, new product introduction, and ongoing product sustaining activities.
• Architect subsystem changes involving enclosures, chassis, mechanisms, thermal, fluidics, and optical interfaces.
• Perform FEA-lite, thermal modeling, fluidic characterization, product characterization, reliability assessments, and root cause investigations.
• Lead mass-production readiness, including PFMEA updates, process controls, test method validation, fixture changes, and calibration strategies.
• Own quality and reliability activities through SPC dashboards, CTQ monitoring, Cp/Cpk analysis, 8D and KT troubleshooting, and quantified risk assessment.
• Manage engineering changes, validation documentation, integrated schedules, action logs, risk registers, cross-functional coordination, and lessons learned while mentoring junior staff.

Requirements

• Typically 5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years with a Master’s degree, or a PhD without experience, or equivalent work experience.
• Deep expertise in mechanical mechanisms, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFMA principles.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer, with familiarity with optics and fluidics interfaces in complex systems.
• Advanced proficiency in CAD and PLM systems.
• Proficiency in fluidics system design, integration, and system-level interactions for complex analytical or life science instruments.
• Knowledge of lyophilization, product handling, process characterization, and reliability considerations.
• Experience with flow control, pressure management, fluid dynamics, CFD analysis, and fluidic components including tubing, pumps, valves, manifolds, sensors, flow controllers, and fluidic assemblies.
• Experience with leak testing, flow-rate verification, pressure testing, system performance validation, design verification, reliability assessment, and root cause investigation.
• Understanding of instrument-to-consumable fluidic interfaces, reagent delivery, fluid path design, sealing strategies, connectivity, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with Excel, Minitab, JMP, ISO 13485, IEC 61010, and design control frameworks; strong technical communication, mentoring, manufacturability, robustness, reliability, and data-driven trade-off evaluation skills.
