What you will do

• Design and fabricate test hardware, harnessing, and systems for optical payload development.
• Develop modular, reusable test automation software and drivers using Python, Rust, and C++.
• Execute development and production tests to meet internal and external customer requirements.
• Develop data acquisition, control, and instrumentation systems for integrated-level testing.
• Design device simulators for component subsystem and hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testbeds.
• Build optical tables with automated active alignment for high-rate optical testing.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual) due to ITAR regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, aerospace, or relevant engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience with test hardware design and software scripting.
• Strong programming proficiency in Python, C++, or Rust.
• Experience designing, building, and testing electrical assemblies and fixtures.

Nice to have

• Experience with optical system design and testing.
• Familiarity with camera automation, beam profiling, and laser interlocks.
• Knowledge of SMC-S-016 or MIL-STD-810 testing methods (vibration, shock, thermal).
• Understanding of electrical and optical failure modes in space environments.
