Operations Engineer (AI)

Location: Must be based in the US (Remote Eligible) in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

Salary: $136,000 — $160,000 USD

What you will do

• Manage ticket queues and identify recurring categories for automation or deflection.
• Participate in a rotating on-call and incident response schedule, including weekends.
• Build monitoring dashboards using Tableau, Superset, and Grafana to track service health and data quality.
• Leverage AI tools like Claude and Copilot for triage, root-cause analysis, and scripting.
• Develop automation code in Python, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Bash.
• Collaborate with global stakeholder teams to resolve operational issues.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with observability and metrics tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ElasticSearch).
• 3+ years of experience with data querying and pipelines (SQL, Airflow, Trino, SQS).
• Knowledge of network fundamentals and hardware (Cisco, Palo Alto).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions) across AWS, GCP, or Oracle Cloud.
• Must reside in a US state where Airbnb is a registered entity.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting enterprise SaaS tools like Salesforce or Workday.
• Experience with SSO/identity integration (e.g., Okta).
