Operations Engineer (AI)

Location: US - Remote Eligible; must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. Occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be required by agreement with the manager.

Salary: $136,000–$160,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Manage the ticket queue, resolve requests, and identify recurring categories for automation or deflection.
• Participate in rotating on-call and incident response coverage, including weekends, while troubleshooting and documenting issues.
• Build and maintain Tableau, Superset, and Grafana dashboards for service health, availability, and data quality.
• Use AI-assisted tools such as Claude and Copilot for triage, root-cause analysis, scripting, and documentation.
• Write and maintain Python, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Bash code to automate operational workflows.
• Partner with global stakeholder teams to drive incidents and operational issues to resolution.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with observability and metrics tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Elasticsearch.
• 3+ years of experience with data querying and pipelines, including SQL, Airflow, Trino, or SQS.
• Working knowledge of network fundamentals and hardware, including Cisco or Palo Alto.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and automation tooling across AWS, GCP, or Oracle Cloud.
• Experience with Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Jira, and Confluence.
• Must be located in an eligible US state; the role may include occasional office or offsite attendance.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting enterprise SaaS tools such as Salesforce or Workday.
• Experience with SSO and identity integrations such as Okta.
