What you will do

• Own the architecture and technical direction of major spacecraft mechanical subsystems across multiple programs.
• Lead the development of the organization's most technically challenging spacecraft subsystems and hardware integrations.
• Perform and guide structural and thermal analyses supporting subsystem development and qualification.
• Partner cross-functionally with systems, RF, electrical, software, and mission operations teams to develop integrated solutions.
• Establish engineering best practices, reusable design approaches, and mechanical development methodologies.
• Mentor mechanical engineers to develop technical depth and subsystem ownership throughout the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience developing complex mechanical systems from concept through qualification.
• Demonstrated experience leading the technical development of major spacecraft or aerospace hardware subsystems.
• Proficiency with CAD platforms such as Onshape, Creo, SolidWorks, or NX.
• Deep understanding of structural mechanics, heat transfer, dynamics, and hardware verification.
• Strong understanding of design for manufacturing, assembly, integration, and production.

Nice to have

• Experience with Simcenter 3D, Simcenter/NX NASTRAN, or Simcenter Space Systems Thermal.
• Familiarity with ESA ECSS, NASA, or equivalent aerospace structural and thermal standards.
• Eligibility for Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensure in a Canadian jurisdiction.
