Engineering Manager (Python)

Engineering Manager (Python): Leading the Entitlements & Spend Platform team to build the runtime layer for billing automation and usage analytics with an accent on real-time state computation and low-latency system engineering. Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, New York, or Amsterdam (3 days/week); for remote roles, in-person attendance is required 1x per quarter.

Salary: $230K – $350K + Equity

What you will do

• Lead the Entitlements & Spend Platform team, managing engineers through 1:1s, consistent feedback, and professional development.
• Define the technical direction and roadmap for the runtime layer between the billing engine and customer workflows.
• Oversee architecture and design reviews to ensure long-term maintainability and low defect rates.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to shape product discovery and advocate for high-standard API design.
• Manage scoping, estimation, and cross-functional communication to ensure timely delivery of commitments.
• Drive high-quality QA, ensuring the correctness and completeness of billing and entitlement data.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager or Tech Lead Manager.
• Deep technical understanding of distributed systems, data modeling, and system architecture.
• Experience with real-time or low-latency systems.
• Proven track record of growing engineers and maintaining a high bar for technical excellence.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and establish execution rigor in a high-leverage domain.
