SerDes Application Engineer

Annual base salary: USD 121,900–195,000, plus discretionary annual bonus and equity awards

hirify.global's Core Switching Group develops switching products for Service Provider, Data Center, and Enterprise markets, including Tomahawk 6 devices designed for high-bandwidth AI networks.

What you will do

• Own the technical aspects of SerDes interfaces for hirify.global CSG products.
• Support architecture and low-level hardware questions, field issues, and customer technical inquiries.
• Replicate issues in the lab using reference designs and test equipment, and troubleshoot high-speed serial interfaces.
• Deliver customer demonstrations and presentations and provide expert support to the Field Applications Engineering organization.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, collateral, and training materials in collaboration with engineering, software, architecture, and marketing teams.
• Understand SerDes architecture and Ethernet SerDes datapath flows through the MAC, PCS, and PMD, and debug SerDes software driver bugs.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar degree.
• 8+ years of experience working with high-speed SerDes and Analog IP.
• Good understanding of high-speed SerDes architecture.
• Hands-on experience with high-speed debug and characterization.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with script-based test automation and strong scripting skills.
• Strong understanding of channel loss, jitter, and typical impairments in high-speed serial IO designs.

Nice to have

• Experience with PCIe, including Gen6.
• Experience with 100/200 Gbps-per-lane Ethernet interfaces.
• Hands-on debugging experience with high-speed oscilloscopes and BERTs.
• Experience with test and screening methodology for high-speed interfaces.
• Prior experience supporting high-speed serial IO interfaces.
• Prior experience supporting Ethernet and/or PCIe interfaces.
