Senior Software Engineer (ICB3)

Location: Plano, Texas, USA

Annual base salary: USD 91,100–146,000, plus discretionary annual bonus and equity awards.

What you will do

• Research and develop innovative solutions for the Datacom database product.
• Design and code functionality for enterprise-level software on IBM mainframes.
• Work within a Scrum team and contribute to an agile development environment.
• Participate in design, code, and test plan reviews.
• Develop automated test scripts and deliver reliable, high-quality software.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent engineering discipline.
• Previous experience developing software in a Scrum team.
• Expertise with IBM Assembler on z/OS and the z/OS Language Environment.
• Experience with system-level functions such as SVCs and PC calls.
• Experience with source code management tools including Endevor and GitHub.

Nice to have

• Experience with z/OS components and subsystems such as JCL, ISPF, CICS, CLIST, PL/I, and mainframe databases including Datacom, IDMS, or DB2.
• Experience with Metal C, COBOL, REXX, C, or C++.
• Knowledge of test automation, Jenkins, Python, or CI/CD automation.
• Experience with Black Duck, Coverity, or zACS tools.
• Strong knowledge of reading system dumps.
