HPC Software Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Milpitas, California, USA; onsite role with travel to customer sites as needed

Salary: $136,300–$231,700 annually

What you will do

• Develop and troubleshoot large-scale software for multidisciplinary software and hardware systems.
• Build system-level C++ applications for semiconductor products and wafer inspection platforms.
• Design, debug, profile, and optimize software performance, memory usage, and system behavior.
• Implement multithreaded and multiprocessing solutions on Windows and Linux.
• Apply software development practices across analysis, design, development, unit testing, and CI/CD.
• Travel to customer sites on short notice for software troubleshooting when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related experience, Master’s degree with 3+ years, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Extensive C++ experience, including object-oriented design, system-level programming, and software architecture.
• Experience with multithreading, multiprocessing, Windows and/or Linux application development, memory management, performance profiling, and debugging.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, relational database design patterns, and the software development life cycle.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with staff and management at appropriate levels of abstraction and move from theory to implementation.

Nice to have

• Domain knowledge of semiconductor process control or wafer inspection.
• Experience with AI tools and technologies that accelerate development and testing.
