Cyber Security Engineer - Automation

Salary: USD 105,000–125,000 yearly

What you will do

• Build and maintain Python scripts, command-line tools, API integrations, and scheduled jobs for security and operational automation.
• Automate evidence collection, configuration checks, alert enrichment, ticket creation, reporting, and basic remediation workflows.
• Create and maintain GitHub Actions workflows for testing, scanning, packaging, and controlled deployments.
• Update and test Terraform modules and plans while identifying insecure cloud configuration patterns.
• Automate AWS inventory, access reviews, configuration validation, tagging checks, and security findings triage.
• Develop narrowly scoped internal agents and collaborate with security, cloud, platform, SOC, and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Working proficiency in Python and REST APIs, including reading, debugging, and improving existing scripts.
• Hands-on experience with Git and GitHub, plus familiarity with CI/CD concepts and GitHub Actions.
• Fundamental understanding of AWS services, IAM, networking, logging, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Basic Terraform experience or a strong willingness to learn through repository work.
• Understanding of least privilege, secrets handling, code review, change control, testing, logging, and documentation.
• Ability to deliver scoped work with guidance, escalate risks early, and develop secure automations.

Nice to have

• Experience with security tooling, SIEM/SOAR, vulnerability management, ticketing, or cloud operations.
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or policy-as-code.
• Experience with enterprise AI tools, LLM APIs, RAG, MCP, or agent frameworks.
• AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, Security+, or comparable training.
