Engineering Manager (Node.js/TypeScript)

What you will do

• Lead the Merchants Core and Merchants Growth engineering teams through dedicated engineering leads.
• Own architecture and technical decisions for billing, invoicing, checkout, dashboards, and the delivery promise engine.
• Run 1:1s, set goals, provide feedback, hire engineers, and develop team capability.
• Own sprint health, backlog quality, delivery predictability, and KTLO work across both teams.
• Partner with Product, Design, Customer Success, Data, and the Head of Engineering on roadmaps, merchant operations, reconciliation, analytics, and technical strategy.

Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years managing engineering teams.
• Experience managing multiple teams or a team of teams simultaneously.
• Architect-level depth in billing systems, API design, and product infrastructure.
• Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Stripe or equivalent payment infrastructure.
• Player-coach mindset with strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a high-growth startup where priorities can change quickly.
