Cultural Resources Management (CRM) Specialist (Historic Preservation/Compliance): Manage cultural, historical, and archaeological resources compliance for federal and state regulated projects with an accent on NHPA/NEPA requirements, tribal and agency consultation, and technical report deliverables. Focus on Phase Ia/Class I desktop reviews, drafting consultation and due-diligence documentation, and serving as a subject matter expert across multi-state energy infrastructure projects.

What you will do
- Coordinate cultural resources compliance for projects under NHPA, Archaeological Resources Protection Act, Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, NEPA, and applicable state regulations.
- Support agency and tribal consultation, including drafting consultation letters and materials for SHPOs, Tribal Historic Preservation Officers, Native American Tribes, and relevant federal/state/local agencies.
- Act as cultural resources subject matter expert by advising project managers on application of federal and state historic preservation laws and regulations.
- Conduct Phase Ia/Class I desktop reviews and draft memos for due diligence and operations & maintenance projects across multiple states.
- Manage budgets and prepare proposals, reports, and technical documents, including authoring Unanticipated Discovery Plans, Treatment Plans, and NEPA/NHPA technical reports.
- Manage client expectations for deliverables, schedules, and budgets, including status reporting.
Requirements
- Secretary of the Interior-qualified with a bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in archaeology, history, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cultural resources consulting with a focus in Midwestern and Southwest U.S.
- Strong oral and written communication, organizational skills, and ability to strategize across multiple concurrent projects.
- Working knowledge of state and federal historic preservation regulations.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to conduct research at various SHPO offices as appropriate to location.

Salary: $79,400–$119,500 per year
