What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server database architectures.
- Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure high availability and efficient query execution.
- Implement backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery strategies for cloud and on-premises environments.
- Develop SQL queries, reports, and database objects to support application development and analytics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to support enterprise database solutions.
- Evaluate emerging database technologies and support continuous infrastructure optimization.
Requirements
- Must reside within the continental US
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in database engineering or administration
- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and SQL development
- Experience supporting cloud-based database environments in AWS and Azure
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Public Trust clearance
Nice to have
- Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
- Knowledge of advanced PostgreSQL features like PostGIS and WAL archiving
- Relevant certifications in AWS, Azure, or MongoDB
- Experience working in a DevSecOps environment
