What you will do
- Lead complex hardware installations, maintenance visits, and repairs; coordinate Hardware Operations Engineers on-site.
- Mentor and coach engineers through onsite hardware tasks, troubleshooting logic, QA checks, kit preparation, and escalation handling.
- Own hardware health checks and system readiness across cameras, compute hardware, networking equipment, power, and cabling; validate readiness before live handover.
- Manage complex onsite incidents by determining recovery paths, coordinating RMAs and spares, and escalating to Systems Engineering or TechOps when needed.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to meet installation timelines and provide field feedback to improve hardware standards.
- Provide remote troubleshooting when not at venues, including reviewing field evidence and recommending travel/no-travel decisions.
Requirements
- Location & travel: Based in Atlanta, GA and ready to travel extensively (approximately 50% during season; up to 80% during install season).
- 3+ years in hardware field service, technical implementation, broadcast technology, sports tech, or a similar environment.
- Strong troubleshooting expertise across camera systems, servers/compute hardware, networking equipment, power systems, and cabling.
- Proven ability to lead onsite technical work with limited supervision and coordinate small teams.
- Experience with remote diagnostics, logs, and monitoring tools, plus strong documentation discipline for clean handover.
- Experience working in high-stakes broadcast and live-event stadium environments (e.g., MLB/MiLB/NCAA) and familiarity with rack rooms and structured cabling.
