What you will do

• Write functional and design specifications for system software managing hardware components.
• Implement software solutions for system components using C, C++, and Python.
• Develop and execute automated test plans and programs to ensure feature quality.
• Debug and resolve complex problems identified by automated tests or reported in customer networks.
• Collaborate with the SONiC community to upstream code and test changes.
• Mentor junior engineers and perform code reviews for team members.

Requirements

• BSc, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering.
• 2+ years of post-graduate work experience.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
• Strong knowledge of UNIX or Linux environments.
• Understanding of L2/L3 networking (e.g., BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, RIP, or Spanning Tree).
• Experience with distributed systems functions such as messaging, signaling, or databases.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise or service provider class Ethernet switch/router system software.
• PhD level research in the area of network routing and packet forwarding.
