Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Elixir)

Location: Remote (Romania); periodic in-person team meetings are required.

What you will do

• Design and implement high-performance Elixir/Phoenix systems, including the Document Engine and Web Services API.
• Build declarative infrastructure with Terraform, Terramate, FluxCD, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Operate and evolve the managed cloud platform, including cluster lifecycle, upgrades, GitOps workflows, observability, and database operations.
• Share ownership of architecture, tools, and services while contributing to product development and customer success.
• Collaborate with a small remote-first engineering team to ship features, debug complex problems, and improve reliability.

Requirements

• Experience building backend services and distributed systems.
• Production experience with Kubernetes and public cloud platforms, especially AWS.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and GitOps practices.
• Strong coding skills; prior Elixir experience is not required.
• Pragmatic approach to clean architecture, code quality, and engineering decisions.
• Ability to communicate directly, give feedback, and respond constructively to feedback.
