Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir)

What you will do

• Design and implement high-performance systems using Elixir and Phoenix.
• Build and maintain declarative infrastructure using Terraform, Terramate, and FluxCD on Kubernetes.
• Operate and evolve the managed cloud platform, including cluster lifecycle, observability, and database operations.
• Collaborate with a remote-first engineering team to ship features and debug complex reliability issues.
• Contribute to architecture, tooling, and product development.
• Participate in periodic in-person team meetings to align and reflect.

Requirements

• Must be based in Romania.
• Proven experience in backend services and distributed systems.
• Track record of running production workloads on Kubernetes and public cloud (AWS).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and GitOps practices.
• Strong coding skills (Elixir experience is not required; willingness to learn is expected).
• Pragmatic approach to clean architecture and system reliability.
