Contracts Lead (Aerospace & Defense): Leading contract strategy, negotiations, compliance, proposal support, and financial performance monitoring for U.S. government and defense programs with an accent on FAR/DFARS requirements, risk management, and stakeholder collaboration. Focus on developing contract strategies, negotiating high-stakes agreements, supporting competitive and non-competitive proposals, and mentoring junior contracts professionals.

Location: Hybrid in Buffalo, NY, with an onsite work schedule in East Aurora, NY

Salary: $90,000–$135,000 annually

What you will do

  • Lead contract strategy development and execution across multiple programs.
  • Lead and provide guidance on high-stakes negotiations with government agencies, defense organizations, and other customers.
  • Advise on contract compliance, FAR and DFARS requirements, contractual obligations, and risk mitigation.
  • Support competitive and non-competitive proposals through contract terms, pricing strategies, risk identification, and solicitation compliance.
  • Monitor contract financial and operational performance and develop mitigation strategies with program teams.
  • Mentor Contract Specialists and Program Administrators while supporting training, policies, procedures, and workload planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of related experience in U.S. government contracting.
  • Experience negotiating, drafting, or managing contracts subject to U.S. government regulations, including FAR and DFARS.
  • Experience drafting, leading, or significantly contributing to competitive and non-competitive proposals.
  • Strong influence, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lead and develop junior contracts professionals.
  • Access to U.S. export-controlled information is required.
