What you will do

• Develop foundations for Quantum Computational Fluid Dynamics (Quantum CFD).
• Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for fluid dynamics simulations.
• Evaluate algorithm performance on quantum simulators and real-world quantum hardware.
• Collaborate with industry partners, specifically IHI Corporation, on aerospace applications.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary research at the interface of mathematics, physics, and engineering.
• Publish scientific articles and complete a doctoral thesis.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or Computational Science.
• Strong background in numerical methods, scientific computing, or quantum computing.
• Excellent programming skills in Python and/or C++.
• English proficiency: C1 level required for communication and thesis writing.
• Ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team.
• Must be able to relocate to the Netherlands for the duration of the 4-year contract.
