Senior Lead SQA Engineer (Data & Compute Platforms)

Location: San Jose, California, United States. Hybrid work may be available based on business needs; occasional domestic and international travel may be required. Work may involve controlled technology, laboratory or cleanroom environments, and compliance with export regulations.

Salary: $149,600–$205,700 annual base salary.

What you will do

• Lead progression validation for shared Data & Compute platform capabilities across multiple products.
• Define validation strategies, test plans, scenarios, quality metrics, and readiness criteria for regression handoff.
• Validate data pipelines, infrastructure and compute platforms, MLOps workflows, CI/CD integrations, UI frameworks, and recipe management systems.
• Drive automated validation solutions, test frameworks, coverage improvements, and quality engineering practices.
• Perform integration testing, root-cause analysis, defect resolution, and risk mitigation for complex technical issues.
• Provide technical direction, contribute to design reviews, document decisions, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 8 years of experience in software engineering, software quality engineering, system validation, or a related discipline.
• Experience completing at least one full product development cycle and leading complex technical activities.
• Strong knowledge of software quality engineering, validation methodologies, test automation, integration testing, and system validation.
• Knowledge of Linux, databases, networking, distributed systems, software architecture, data pipelines, infrastructure services, and MLOps.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor equipment or other high-tech systems.
• Experience with data platforms, compute platforms, infrastructure services, or MLOps.
• Experience with distributed systems, automation frameworks, and CI/CD environments.
