What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain FastAPI-based backend services for portfolio rebalancing, trade management, and advisor workflows
• Integrate with multiple data stores (PostgreSQL and MongoDB/DocumentDB) and build/optimize data pipelines for custodial, security master, and real-time market data feeds
• Develop and maintain AWS infrastructure using CDK, including ECS Fargate deployments and serverless components
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to implement RESTful APIs consumed by a Vue/Nuxt advisor portal (with opportunities to contribute frontend code)
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability using Datadog APM
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure system reliability

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional Python software engineering experience
• Experience designing and implementing distributed systems
• Experience with production REST APIs (FastAPI, Flask, or Django)
• Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and document stores (MongoDB)
• Experience with AWS services (ECS, Fargate, Lambda, S3, SQS/SNS)
• Ability to work on-site in New York, United States

Nice to have

• 4–6 years of professional software engineering experience
• Infrastructure-as-Code experience (AWS CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation)
• CI/CD and containerized deployments (Docker)
• Data validation and ORM tools (Pydantic, SQLAlchemy)
• Experience with real-time market data APIs (Polygon, Bloomberg, Reuters)
