Backend Software Engineer - Assistant Vice President (Python/Scala)

Location: Hybrid in Greenwich, Connecticut, or New York, New York, United States; office work Monday–Thursday with remote work available on Friday

Salary: $130,000–$170,000 per year, depending on level

What you will do

• Design and build performant, intuitive APIs and applications for the hirify.global platform.
• Develop cloud-native services using Python and Scala with open-source frameworks such as FastAPI and ZIO.
• Create unit and integration tests using ScalaTest, ZIO Test, and PyTest.
• Collaborate with Product Management on requirements, work-in-progress reviews, and testing issues.
• Participate in stand-ups, peer code reviews, software development lifecycle activities, and change management.

Requirements

• Degree in Software Engineering.
• 6+ years of web-based application development experience.
• Experience with Python, Scala, or Node.
• Understanding of relational or NoSQL database concepts and modeling practices.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, independent-working, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Understanding of how single sign-on (SSO) works.
• Experience or interest in learning additional technologies used across the platform.
