TL;DR

ERISA Technical Consultant (Fintech): Providing technical expertise and compliance support for retirement plans including 401(k), 403(b), and MEP/PEP structures with an accent on regulatory compliance, nondiscrimination testing, and Form 5500 reporting. Location: Must be based in the United States (Remote/Work@Home)

What you will do

  • Provide technical guidance and training to professionals performing compliance services for various retirement plan types.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on ERISA compliance, IRS regulatory requirements, and plan design interpretation.
  • Lead enhancements to systems, processes, and controls related to compliance testing and reporting.
  • Utilize automation and technology to manage high-volume compliance testing efficiently.
  • Perform complex nondiscrimination testing, including 410(b), 414(s), and 401(a)(4) tests.
  • Consult on operational issues, plan design, and regulatory compliance matters for clients and internal teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience in ERISA compliance.
  • 8–10 years of industry experience with strong ERISA and IRS regulation knowledge.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in an ERISA compliance environment.
  • Hands-on experience with ASC (Actuarial Systems Corporation) or equivalent compliance software.
  • Proven ability to leverage technology and automation tools for compliance workflows.
  • Experience supporting Multiple Employer Plans (MEPs) or Pooled Employer Plans (PEPs).

Nice to have

  • Industry certifications such as ASPPA, NIPA, SPARK, CEBS, ERPA, QKA, or QPA.
  • Experience consulting on complex plan design and regulatory issues.
  • Background in process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Experience working with multiple recordkeeping platforms.
