Senior Software Engineer - Investments (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco, CA; New York, NY; Portland, OR; or remote within Canada or the United States

Salary: US employees: $200,700–$250,900 USD; Canadian employees: $189,700–$237,100 CAD

What you will do

• Lead high-impact, cross-functional projects across the Investments space.
• Architect, build, and scale brokerage trading and custody systems.
• Develop systems supporting Mercury’s Treasury and Invest products.
• Collaborate with product, operations, and compliance teams to deliver features for customers and internal users.
• Provide technical leadership and take ownership of complex product and engineering decisions.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Domain knowledge of broker-dealer trading or custody systems supporting equities, fixed income, ETFs, and mutual funds.
• Experience working with AWS and infrastructure at scale.
• Experience serving as technical lead for complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to make architectural decisions, evaluate their long-term impact, and communicate technical trade-offs.
