Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Charlotte, NC (Hybrid: Tuesday–Thursday in office, remote Mondays/Fridays). Not open to visa sponsorship or corp-to-corp.

Salary: $150,000 – $220,000 per year

What you will do

• Collaborate with AI and software engineers to build LLM-powered products for mortgage automation.
• Design and own AI evaluation infrastructure, including golden datasets and regression suites.
• Lead model selection, agent orchestration, and custom fine-tuning (SFT, DPO, LoRA).
• Implement safety guardrails and hallucination mitigation for regulated financial workflows.
• Ensure production reliability, latency, and observability for end-to-end AI systems.
• Mentor junior team members and drive technical capabilities across the applied AI community.

Requirements

• 5+ years of production software experience, with at least 1 year building LLM-powered systems.
• Hands-on experience with prompt design, agent harnesses, and tool use.
• Proficiency in building eval frameworks and benchmark design.
• Experience integrating foundation models from multiple vendors (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-weight).
• Familiarity with RAG design, embedding models, and post-training techniques.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with TypeScript, React, or Node.js for application integration.
• Experience operating in regulated or financial environments.
• Proficiency with modern data platforms like Databricks or Snowflake.
