What you will do

• Own the technical direction for customer-facing registries, APIs, and artifact-serving systems.
• Design, build, and operate high-availability backend services using Go.
• Lead initiatives for scalability, reliability, observability, and production load testing.
• Drive architectural decisions regarding service boundaries and infrastructure patterns.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to create a cohesive repository experience.
• Mentor engineers and act as a force multiplier in a fast-moving, engineer-driven team.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in production backend or infrastructure systems.
• Proven track record of staff-level ownership and technical leadership.
• Strong proficiency in Go or deep backend systems experience with the ability to ramp up quickly.
• Experience building or operating customer-facing infrastructure like package registries or high-scale APIs.
• Strong judgment in managing production services, including reliability and performance tradeoffs.
• Comfort working across application and infrastructure layers, including Terraform.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker registries, GitLab package services, Artifactory, or Nexus.
• Familiarity with software supply chain security (SBOMs, provenance, trusted distribution).
• Open source contribution experience in developer tooling or infrastructure.
