What you will do

• Engineer and hand-fabricate high-fidelity proof-of-concept prototypes using materials like textiles, silicone, and soft polymers.
• Operate specialized machinery for cutting, sewing, and bonding to bring early concepts to life.
• Develop tooling and fixture design concepts for softgoods components and troubleshoot fabrication issues.
• Perform core engineering tasks including 3D CAD modeling, analysis, and technical documentation.
• Partner with test engineering to validate performance and feed findings back into tooling and process improvements.
• Prepare cut and print files for production-representative samples.

Requirements

• Must be able to work on-site in Boulder, CO.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or equivalent hands-on fabrication experience.
• 3+ years of experience in prototyping or fabrication within consumer electronics or softgoods industries.
• Proficiency in manufacturing processes including injection molding, machining, and softgoods fabrication.
• Experience with DFM/DFA, FAI, and reading technical drawings including GD&T.
• Comfort operating specialized fabrication equipment as a core part of daily work.
