Senior Cloud Engineer – Platform Automation & DevOps (Azure)

Location: Hybrid in Buffalo, NY, with three days per week at hirify.global's East Aurora headquarters. Non-hirify.global applicants must live locally or be willing to relocate to the Buffalo area.

Salary: $110,000–$155,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise cloud infrastructure and services across Azure and AWS.
• Build cloud landing zones, reusable infrastructure-as-code modules, automation frameworks, and deployment pipelines.
• Develop CI/CD and GitOps strategies with Azure DevOps, GitHub, and related DevOps technologies.
• Integrate testing, validation, security controls, and operational workflows into automated deployments.
• Improve cloud performance, reliability, scalability, cost efficiency, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
• Partner with application, security, infrastructure, and operations teams while leading technical investigations and cloud platform standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of IT experience, including three or more years of hands-on cloud engineering.
• Strong experience designing, deploying, and supporting scalable Microsoft Azure solutions; AWS experience is beneficial.
• Experience with Terraform, Bicep, and/or CloudFormation, plus CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps and GitHub.
• Knowledge of cloud automation, platform engineering, resiliency, disaster recovery, security, distributed systems, and cloud integrations.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or other complex enterprise environments.
• Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-400.
• Familiarity with data integration and transformation services, Kubernetes, and containerization.
