What you will do

• Implement control and actuation strategies for articulated trucks
• Develop and test reliable, safety-critical control software
• Characterize vehicle platforms including braking, steering, and acceleration
• Develop models for onboard and simulated motion prediction
• Specify requirements and document implementations
• Collaborate with Planning, Hardware, Systems, and Infrastructure teams to enhance vehicle control architecture

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Mountain View, CA, United States
• 2+ years experience in production-level vehicular controls software development
• Proficient in production-level C++ software development
• Strong background in robotics, controls, and mathematics
• Experience developing, testing, and tuning controllers for autonomous vehicles
• Focus on vehicle safety

Nice to have

• Experience characterizing, modeling, and simulating robotic systems
• Knowledge of control theory including stability analysis
• Experience with low-level drivers and protocols such as CAN and ethernet
• Development on resource-constrained embedded systems with real-time OS
• Experience in safety-critical software domains (automotive, aerospace, medical)
• Knowledge of formal verification and systems engineering processes
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and Simulink
