Machinist III (CNC)

Machinist III (CNC): Operating, maintaining, and advancing machine shop capabilities for the development and production of ALRE and SE systems with an accent on precision machining and hybrid additive manufacturing technologies. Focus on programming with Mastercam, setting up CNC equipment, and maturing new manufacturing processes for prototyping.

Location: Must be based within a 40-mile radius of Lakehurst, NJ. This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days of on-site work per week.

Salary: $28.37–$38.40 per hour (approx. $59k–$80k annually).

What you will do

• Operate traditional and advanced subtractive manufacturing equipment including 5-axis CNC machines, mills, lathes, and EDM.
• Develop toolpaths and digital manufacturing plans using Mastercam software.
• Perform setup, alignment, and operation of precision machine tools to fabricate parts to specifications.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to mature manufacturing concepts like additive manufacturing and model-based definition.
• Monitor machine performance, detect malfunctions, and adjust controls to ensure quality production.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine sequence of operations and setup requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience with CNC set-up and operation.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain required customer security clearance.
• Strong understanding of Fanuc control systems and Mastercam programming.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks in a factory environment.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and prints.
