Senior Manager, Workers' Compensation Claims (Workers' Compensation)

Location: Tampa, Florida; hybrid role based in the Tampa office

Salary: $122,000–$158,000 per year

What you will do

• Supervise a small workers' compensation claims team through daily direction, workload oversight, coaching, onboarding, and training.
• Manage a personal caseload of complex, litigated, and high-severity claims from first notice of loss through closure.
• Review coverage decisions, reserves, settlement recommendations, and claim financial components for accuracy and consistency.
• Handle escalations involving difficult claims, coverage disputes, and customer concerns.
• Audit claim files and conduct quality reviews to improve individual and team performance.
• Coordinate with TPAs, carriers, defense counsel, medical providers, and nurse case managers while supporting reporting, loss trend analysis, and process improvements.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in third-party claims administration or PEO claims.
• Experience mentoring, training, or informally leading claims associates.
• Working knowledge of workers' compensation regulations across multiple states and related jurisdictional requirements.
• Strong reserving skills and understanding of indemnity, medical, and expense components of claim financials.
• Experience with claims management systems or RMIS platforms, return-to-work programs, managed care coordination, and vendor management.
• Strong communication, organization, analytical, judgment, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
