Design and Release Engineer (Automotive): Developing and integrating power and signal distribution sub-components for vehicle programs with an accent on component design, system architecture, and cross-functional collaboration. Focus on managing cost, quality, mass, and timing while ensuring seamless integration within complex vehicle architectures.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Warren, Michigan (Hybrid: 3 days/week in office)

What you will do

• Support the design, development, and release of PSDS sub-components including cables, harnesses, and connectors.
• Manage cost, quality, mass, and timing for assigned components throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including interiors, body, purchasing, and manufacturing to resolve integration issues.
• Create and maintain parts lists and support complexity studies for assigned sub-systems.
• Participate in pre-production build events and support assembly plant launches.
• Perform complex design analysis and implement engineering changes to meet system requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• Minimum 2 years of post-graduation engineering experience in component design or release.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering theory and principles.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis and pass a Motor Vehicle Report review.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in a relevant Engineering field.
• Experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
