What you will do

  • Manage all technical aspects of the sales journey, including product demonstrations and proof of concept (PoC) delivery.
  • Respond to RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs to support sales opportunities.
  • Channel customer requirements and feedback to the product management organization to shape product strategy.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success to conduct post-sales engineering check-ins and assist with tool integration.
  • Assist marketing in identifying and creating technical collateral to help close sales.
  • Travel frequently (30%+) for onsite meetings with prospective and current customers.

Requirements

  • Must be located in Japan.
  • Fluent in both Japanese and English (written and verbal).
  • 5+ years of experience in high-tech sales, solutions engineering, or systems/network engineering.
  • Experience managing Cisco/Juniper routers and Linux servers.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols such as BGP, Netflow, SNMP, TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP.
  • Knowledge of DDoS attacks and basic mitigation methods.

Nice to have

  • Experience selling to Tier 1 and 2 carrier networks.
  • Scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, Ansible, or Perl.
  • Knowledge of public cloud architectures (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Familiarity with open-source tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Elastic.
  • Experience as an early member of a sales team at a hyper-growth startup.
