What you will do

• Guide the migration of monolithic MS SQL Server databases to a highly scalable, distributed read/write PostgreSQL architecture.
• Translate and refactor complex legacy T-SQL logic into optimized PL/pgSQL queries.
• Integrate advanced AI tooling, specifically Claude Code, into daily engineering workflows to accelerate optimization.
• Implement indexing and partitioning strategies to ensure high performance across multi-node database environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional work experience in database engineering.
• Must be based in Portugal.
• Expertise in MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL migration.
• Proficiency in T-SQL and PL/pgSQL.
