What you will do

• Lead the architectural evolution of core storage engine components to resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Develop and optimize indexing layouts, serialization formats, and resource utilization.
• Drive cross-organizational initiatives to build industry-leading observability solutions.
• Mentor other engineers and serve as a subject matter expert across the hirify.globalsearch platform.
• Collaborate with a global community to triage and review open-source issues and pull requests.
• Write high-quality, idiomatic modern Java code.

Requirements

• Strong core Java skills and deep understanding of concurrency primitives.
• Proven ability to design and optimize efficient data structures and algorithms.
• Experience implementing techniques to index, store, and query time-series or logs data.
• Experience with storage technologies such as hirify.globalsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Prometheus.
• Ability to work autonomously in a distributed team using asynchronous communication.
• Proficiency in leveraging AI agents and prompt engineering to accelerate development.

Nice to have

• Previous experience building things with hirify.globalsearch.
• Experience contributing to open source projects and familiarity with CI workflows.
• Background in database, search engine, OS, or cloud service development.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
