Location: Hybrid (Amsterdam, Netherlands) — 3 days onsite required

Salary: €65,000 – €85,000 per year (incl. 8% holiday allowance)

What you will do

• Own full-stack delivery on the roadmap, spanning backend logic, database design, and server-rendered UI.
• Lead the migration of Ember.js features to Rails and Hotwire, redesigning functionality for better user experience.
• Maintain codebase health by handling support escalations and fixing legacy bugs.
• Enhance CI/CD practices and deployment pipelines to enable more frequent and reliable releases.
• Build and maintain integrations with Learning Management Systems using LTI and partner APIs.
• Collaborate on technical design discussions and provide high-quality code reviews.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with Ruby on Rails as the primary stack.
• Proficiency in writing effective tests using RSpec and Capybara.
• Proven experience working with legacy codebases and a strong user-oriented mindset.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and deployment workflows.
• Ability to communicate clearly, provide honest feedback, and document technical trade-offs.
• Must be based in or able to work from the Amsterdam office 3 days a week.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ember.js or migration scenarios from Ember to Hotwire.
• Familiarity with AI development tooling.
• Experience with Azure or observability practices.
