What you will do
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot high-speed internet, video, and voice networks, including associated wiring and equipment.
- Perform maintenance and repair on outside plant facilities within assigned geographic service areas.
- Climb poles, dig up and bury cable, work in utility access holes/CEVs, and locate buried telephone cables.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations during field work.
- Assist other technical personnel when requested.
- Support sales and marketing activities and direct customer-facing work and sales referrals.
Requirements
- High school diploma (or equivalent) or higher.
- Ability to distinguish colors on facilities.
- Ability to handle 28-foot extension ladders (up to 75 lbs routine work) and utility access hole covers (up to 150 lbs).
- Ability to complete service tech boot camp training and perform POTS/DSL installation/repair, cable splicing/maintenance, basic transmissions, and HSI installations.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office applications).
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record; ability to work outside in all weather conditions and at various hours, including confined spaces and working aloft.
