Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Must be based in British Columbia, Canada

Salary: $115,000–$125,000 CAD per year

What you will do

• Contribute to architectural discussions and drive design decisions for scalable systems.
• Solve complex technical challenges and select appropriate technologies for project requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers.
• Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain high quality and coding standards.
• Design and secure robust RESTful APIs for internal and third-party integrations.
• Utilize AI-assisted tools and prompt engineering to accelerate development processes.

Requirements

• Must be based in British Columbia, Canada
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years in designing complex systems.
• Deep expertise in Java (11/17+), JVM internals, and Spring Boot.
• Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases like PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Experience with cloud technologies, microservices, and search engines like Elasticsearch.
• Familiarity with React, Next.js, and Material UI.
