Senior Frontend Engineer (React)

Location: Remote, UK

Salary: £60,000–£70,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop Arbor’s front-end library and React Native mobile application.
• Contribute to the migration from ExtJS to React and build new features, libraries, and a comprehensive component library.
• Collaborate with the Product Manager, QA Engineer, and Technical Lead to design feature solutions and document them with diagrams.
• Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end test coverage.
• Improve user experience, developer workflows, and production reliability through risk reduction, incident remediation, and root cause analysis.
• Lead code reviews, pair programming, technical talks, workshops, and mentoring.

Requirements

• Extensive JavaScript and TypeScript expertise, including strong knowledge of JavaScript fundamentals.
• Experience leading projects with React, Angular, Vue, or similar modern frontend frameworks.
• Excellent HTML and CSS knowledge with a strong understanding of web accessibility.
• Experience with automated testing, software engineering principles, scalable architecture, and Agile or Scrum delivery.
• Experience with frontend build tools such as Webpack and Babel, Docker, containerisation, GitHub Actions, and Bash scripting.
• Excellent written and spoken English, collaboration and mentoring skills, and experience with PHP/Symfony or another backend framework.

Nice to have

• React Native or other mobile application development experience.
• Experience with enterprise solutions or developing a frontend framework or platform.
• Experience with PHP, relational and NoSQL databases, and practices such as Refactoring, Clean Code, Domain-Driven Design, and Test-Driven Development.
