TL;DR

Focus on building robust, production-ready pipelines that integrate deterministic optimization methods with modern machine learning techniques to power real-time mapping technologies.

Location: Must be based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands (Hybrid: 2 days/week in office required).

What you will do

  • Design and implement scalable algorithms for map-matching, trace clustering, and drift correction using large-scale vehicle data.
  • Formulate and solve lane-centerline extraction and topology inference problems using optimization techniques like linear programming and factor graphs.
  • Develop hybrid solutions combining deterministic methods with machine learning models such as GNNs and transformers.
  • Architect high-performance, production-ready implementations for deployment on cloud platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate trace-processing models into map-making pipelines.
  • Stay current with state-of-the-art research in SLAM, geospatial deep learning, and map inference.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in computer science, robotics, applied mathematics, or a related field.
  • 3-4 years of professional experience as a software engineer.
  • Strong proficiency in Python; C++ experience is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with optimization-based estimation, including graph optimization and probabilistic state estimation.
  • Experience processing large-scale vehicle trajectory data and sensor fusion.
  • Knowledge of SLAM pipelines and modern ML applied to geometric or graph problems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Azure and containerization with Docker.
