Business Controller (Finance)

Business Controller (Finance): Providing financial insights, analyses, and reporting to support R&D leaders in driving efficiency, cost control, and profitability. Focus on budgeting, forecasting, and evaluating business cases for new product development initiatives.

Location: Hybrid in Apeldoorn, Netherlands (minimum two days per week in the office)

What you will do

• Deliver financial analyses and insights to support decision-making within the R&D Development Unit.
• Monitor R&D performance through KPIs and analyze variances between actual, budgeted, and forecasted results.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting processes across multiple R&D locations.
• Analyze CAPEX, project costs, and people-related costs in collaboration with local finance teams.
• Evaluate business cases for new product development (NPD) initiatives and support process improvement projects.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to commute to Apeldoorn, Netherlands for hybrid office attendance.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience as a controller, junior controller, or finance business partner.
• Master's degree in Finance, Business Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and handling large datasets.
• Excellent communication skills in English for interacting with international stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience using Power BI for data interpretation and performance analysis.
• Interest in emerging technologies such as AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).
