Senior Mechanical Engineer (Life Sciences)

Location: Hybrid in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, serving the Philadelphia area

What you will do

• Own equipment modules and packages through design and procurement, including schedules, data sheets, specifications, bid evaluations, design reviews, and factory acceptance tests.
• Develop HVAC, plumbing, compressed gas, chilled water, heating hot water, steam, and other plant and process utility systems for life science manufacturing facilities.
• Produce calculations, reports, construction drawings, P&IDs, equipment plans, utility distribution plans, control philosophies, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate designs with clients, suppliers, contractors, project management, and internal disciplines while delivering agreed scope within budget and schedule.
• Support construction through submittal reviews, RFI responses, site visits, and verification that installation matches design intent.
• Mentor less experienced mechanical engineers and lead design development and technical reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of mechanical design experience in a design firm setting.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, or cell and gene therapy projects.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit, and the ability to develop P&IDs.
• Strong coordination, communication, client interaction, and technical review skills.
• Ability to travel as needed for client and project development.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineering (PE) licensure.
• Knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments.
• Experience with energy modeling using HAP software.
