Senior AI / LLM Engineer (Azure)

What you will do

• Design and build production-grade LLM-powered systems, including RAG, fine-tuning, tool use, and multi-agent orchestration.
• Develop agentic workflows for automation, reasoning, and conversational experiences.
• Build reusable AI infrastructure covering prompt orchestration, vector search, retrieval pipelines, evaluation, and observability.
• Develop AI capabilities such as stylist reasoning, product understanding, and copilots for reuse across engineering squads.
• Embed AI safety, governance, explainability, and risk controls in partnership with Trust & Security.
• Optimise AI systems for performance, cost, scalability, and reliability.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Studio, and Azure Machine Learning.
• Experience running production-grade AI systems on cloud infrastructure, including APIs, event-driven architectures, and scalable compute such as AKS.
• Strong Python skills and experience with modern AI frameworks such as Semantic Kernel or LangChain.
• Deep knowledge of LLMs, transformer-based models, embeddings, tokenisation, context management, fine-tuning, prompting, and model selection.
• Experience designing RAG pipelines, agent-based systems, workflow orchestration, evaluation frameworks, AI safety guardrails, and secure production systems.
• Experience with performance and cost optimisation techniques including caching, batching, and model routing.
