What you will do

• Provide embedded legal support to product and engineering teams on privacy-by-design principles.
• Advise on the development of new features involving player data, personalization, and live ops.
• Conduct and guide Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and risk assessments.
• Interpret and operationalize regulatory requirements like GDPR, UK GDPR, and ePrivacy directives.
• Counsel on data use in free-to-play models, including advertising, analytics, and virtual economies.
• Draft and negotiate data protection clauses, DPAs, and cross-border transfer mechanisms.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer in the UK or EU jurisdiction with 3+ years PQE.
• Must be authorized to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
• Solid background in privacy and data protection law, including GDPR and UK GDPR.
• Experience advising on consumer-facing digital products or platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to embed legal advice into product development processes.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with technical teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in the gaming industry.
• Familiarity with ad tech, analytics, and data monetization models.
• Experience advising on products containing AI.
• Experience with children’s data and age-appropriate design frameworks.
• Certification such as CIPP/E or CIPM.
