Head of Engineering (Fintech)

TL;DR

Head of Engineering (Fintech/Billing): Leading a ~30 person engineering team to build a revenue design platform for automated billing and pricing with an accent on system correctness and scalability. Focus on designing distributed systems, scaling the leadership bench, and establishing technical foundations for high-growth.

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, New York, or Amsterdam (3 days/week). Remote roles are available but require in-person attendance 1x per quarter.

Compensation: $320K – $395K + Equity

What you will do

• Coach and grow engineering managers and senior ICs through hands-on mentorship and clear career development paths.
• Build the engineering leadership bench and own the talent and retention strategy across multiple offices.
• Set and articulate technical strategy, ensuring systems are designed for absolute correctness and scale.
• Partner with GTM and Product leadership to shape product, competitive, and monetization strategies.
• Establish lightweight, high-leverage process foundations to support the next stage of company growth.

Requirements

• 10+ years in engineering with several years leading engineering organizations, ideally in infrastructure or platform domains.
• Deep technical expertise in distributed systems, data, and designing for high scale and correctness.
• Experience scaling teams and systems through significant growth while maintaining a scrappy, early-stage mindset.
• Genuine interest in the billing and monetization domain, specifically usage-based pricing.
• Proven track record of coaching managers and building durable leadership benches across different locations.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to align technical strategy with business results.
