Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote (Must be based in Canada)

Salary: $249,000 – $269,000 CAD

What you will do

• Own the architecture and technical direction for key product areas within a multi-tenant SaaS platform.
• Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using REST, GraphQL, and gRPC.
• Partner with data scientists and MLOps teams to integrate ML/AI capabilities, such as LLM-powered workflows and automation, into customer products.
• Design telemetry and feedback loops to measure AI model performance and iterate on outcomes.
• Champion operational excellence by implementing robust monitoring, alerting, and resilience for critical paths.
• Act as a technical mentor for multiple teams, raising the bar for code quality, design reviews, and engineering standards.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven track record of shipping complex, data/ML/AI-powered SaaS products.
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend stack: Node.js/TypeScript, Java, Go, or Rust.
• Proficiency with Python and data analysis/modeling tools like pandas or pytorch.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Must be based in Canada.
