Technician, Cultivation (Cannabis)

Location: Comox Valley, British Columbia, Canada. Onsite production role with 40 hours per week; weekend, holiday, and after-hours work may be required.

Hourly wage: $25.75 CAD per hour to start.

What you will do

• Perform propagation, planting, transplanting, pruning, defoliation, trellising, crop scouting, threshing, cleaning, and harvesting throughout the plant lifecycle.
• Release biological control agents as part of the Integrated Pest Management program and report pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and environmental concerns.
• Prepare cuttings, cloning materials, trays, growing media, equipment, and work areas according to established procedures.
• Support crop transitions, room turnovers, plant movements, and research activities based on changing crop schedules and R&D priorities.
• Maintain plant identification, labeling, traceability, records, and documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practices.
• Maintain clean, organized cultivation areas and follow biosecurity, sanitation, SOP, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Previous agricultural or horticultural experience is an asset; manufacturing experience is also an asset.
• Ability to follow the Cannabis Act, WorkSafe BC requirements, occupational health and safety rules, internal procedures, and SOPs.
• Strong organizational, time-management, communication, comprehension, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and cultivation, inventory, and data-tracking systems.
• Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 55 lb, standing and walking for extended periods, and wearing required PPE and respirators.
