TL;DR
NA-19 Front Office Action Officer (Nuclear): Supporting the NA-19 front office and its nuclear deterrence mission through tasker management, correspondence, scheduling, meeting coordination, and preparation of decision materials with an accent on government program operations and complex technical communication. Focus on drafting accurate documents and presentations, coordinating cross-program activities, and building processes that meet front office deliverables.

Location: Onsite daily at the DOE Headquarters Forrestal Building in Washington, DC; after training, up to 2 days of telework per week may be available as workload allows.

Salary: $115,000–$120,000 USD annually, plus performance-based bonuses.

What you will do

  • Manage taskers, correspondence, complex scheduling, and other day-to-day front office activities.
  • Coordinate electronic and printed read-ahead materials for senior NA-19 leadership.
  • Attend meetings and review cross-program documents involving NA-19 equities.
  • Coordinate with DP and NNSA offices, including congressional affairs and action groups.
  • Draft documents and presentations that communicate complex program and technical issues to decision makers.
  • Drive process improvement and create plans and processes for front office deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in policy, political science, engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of DOE/NNSA program management experience or a similar background in government or policy-related organizations.
  • Active Q or Top Secret security clearance required.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Availability to work onsite daily in Washington, DC during training and as required by the role.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in policy, political science, engineering, or a related field.
