What you will do

• Build and ship end-to-end features across the stack, from production APIs and data pipelines to user interfaces.
• Develop AI-powered capabilities using LLMs and agentic systems to extract structured data from unstructured documents with human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Scale physics-based and machine-learning energy models into reliable production services with robust testing and observability.
• Process large-scale geospatial and remote-sensing datasets, including imagery and elevation data, to feed platform models.
• Lead technical design reviews and maintain high engineering standards for operational excellence and nondeterministic AI evaluation.

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in Python for production software, including clean code practices and solid API design.
• Full-stack experience working across backend services and modern frontends (e.g., React/TypeScript).
• Hands-on experience building production LLM systems and agents using frameworks like pydantic-ai, LangGraph, or OpenAI SDKs.
• Experience operating production systems: SQL/PostgreSQL, containerization, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Must be based in Charlotte, NC, New York, NY or Boston, MA.

Nice to have

• Geospatial experience with PostGIS and libraries such as rasterio, geopandas, or shapely.
• Depth in the modern Python web stack: FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, and async Python.
• Strong quantitative aptitude and comfort with pandas, polars, or NumPy.
• Experience in the clean energy sector, building electrification, or decarbonization.
