What you will do

• Serve as the primary point of contact for unit representatives throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage external organizations including A/E firms, general contractors, and construction managers.
• Coordinate institutional requirements such as IT, access control, and environmental health and safety.
• Ensure regulatory compliance by managing submissions to university and state fire marshal offices.
• Direct the activities of project engineers, inspectors, and contracted consultants.
• Maintain project objectives, design standards, schedules, and budgets.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in progressively complex engineering or architectural positions.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture.
• Demonstrated experience with complex program criteria such as BSL labs, academic research, or medical facilities.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Must be able to work onsite at client locations in Fairfax, VA.

Nice to have

• Registered Architect or Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Ability to transfer professional registration to the Commonwealth of Virginia within one year.
